Emerald Boa at rest

One day while sitting at the blind, waiting for macaws, a pair of tourists arrived who had gone for a stroll alone. They mentioned they had seen a snake in a tree. I am always interested in snakes, so I followed them back to where they had seen it. During all my time in the Tambopata I had never seen an adult Emerald tree boa before, so I was very surprised that this is what had been found! It remained in coiled up for several days before disappearing into the rainforests, never to be seen again.
