Ara ararauna

While in Brazil we visited the only patch of green in Rondonopolis, a botanical garden. This gorgeous Blue-and-gold macaw was perched in the trees near the entrance. He did not appear to be clipped and moved freely through the trees, unconcerned by our presence. Perhaps he was hand reared - but I have never seen a macaw in better condition. The plumage was perfect.
