Everything we loved was here. Lovely clean cottage, magnificant bird-watching, awesome hiking and rock formations, plants, etc, etc. Thank you very much.

Dette er virkelig et fantastisk omrade og fantastiske folk. Anja og Alan (+ Elena og Charlie) er opriktige og äbne. Mens vi var her oplevede vi stor natur og god mach. Vi häber engang at vi kan returnere hertil. (Danish)
Dear Anja and Alan, you are both wonderful hosts and sincere people with a foolproof attitude towards life and living in the "wild". We enjoyed our stay very much. The nature around here withholds many adventures not yet discovered and realized. Beautiful light, "mystical" animals luring hither and dither. Birds singing high and low, the eclectic feeling of observing a wildcat! The cottage was a fantastic place to relax and set back time, living a life with few worries and fresh air ad libitum. We had some intriguing walks around the area, scouting for wildlifeand feeling the heat drenched air penetrating both our clothes and minds. The believe here - we think - is that cold times are coming. With winter nights lacking centigrades, curtains drawn to preserve heat, firewood continuously heading for the burning furness of the oven, animals retracting to a cold mode of survival. This we would like others to experience!! As Northerners (Norway and Denmark) cold is an attraction :-), the constant thought of keeping warm that demands attention, night and day, yet when resolved the life out here gives one so much in return, an inner sense of calmness and tranquility that quickly fills the hours. We are definitely coming back, and hope for others that they also take the chance of living this life of simplicity.

Bernhard, Helmut und Udo fanden dieses wunderschöne Tal trotz Navi. Was für ein Glück, denn die Freundlichkeit und Herzlichkeit der Wirtsleute haben uns für alles entschädigt. Zu erwähnen sind noch die nette Unterkunft und das gute Essen. Wir wünschen den beiden für die Zukunft immer ein volles Haus. Ich komme wieder!

Wir hatten wunderschöne Ferientage mit Euch. Das Cottage hat viel Atmosphäre. Tritt man vor die Türe, dann ist man mitten in der Natur. Man kann morgens um 7 Uhr bereits seinen Morgenkaffee in der Morgensonne auf dem Bänkchen auf der Terrasse genießen, den Vögeln lauschen und dem Gesumme der Bienen. Am Abend kann man den grandiosen Sternenhimmel auf dem gleichen Bänkchen bewundern. Herrliche Wandertouren, die gute südafrikanische Kost und der exquisite Wein hoben unsere Stimmung. Dazu rundeten die freundlichen und aufmerksamen Gastgeber unseren erholsamen Afrikaurlaub ab. Dazu kommt, dass nach einem Regentag schnell die Sonne wieder trocknet und wärmt. Bestimmt kommen wir wieder.

We have really enjoyed ourselves! The hut is really clean and cute and the fireplace is really warm! Didn't have time to do all the walks, we'll have to come back and do them some other time. Love the hot water bottles and the view. Nice and peaceful out here, WILL BE BACK!!!

It was a wonderful 2 days. Very excited by finding Leucadendron
sorocephalodes and Paranomus esterhuyseniae. New to the current Outramps
Group. Climbed Mt 1496 m instead of Blue Hill which leaves something for
next time. We'll be back in spring. Thanks to Chris, Elaine, Anja and
Alan for your great hospitality. Good luck with the new baby, Anja, and
"sterkte" to Elena.

After a three hour drive we ended up in this unusual place. We were very
excited to get to the house as they caught a leopard for it to get a radio
collar on and to free it afterwards. Sorry that we missed it by one hour,
especially as my husband is going to stay three weeks with the "Cape
Leopard Trust" as a volunteer and sponsor. Another bonus was that
a ringer stayed on the farm to teach Alan how to ring small birds, this
was quite interesting for us. So we decided to extend our stay as we liked
it so much. Did some very interesting birding with Alan, made beautiful
walks and enjoyed the hospitality of Alan and Anja. A pity we had to move
on.
